    WHAT IS MOTIVATION?

Motivation; is it something that some people are born with, is it something that some people have learnt, is down to our energy levels or down to our life experience?

    What is motivation?

Well, in short, motivation is an emotion. An emotion that allows you to have the ability to get yourself to take action regardless of whether you feel like it or not. One of the main reasons people fail to achieve their goals is because of inaction. It’s easy to say or think about what you are going to do but actually doing what you say takes commitment, (especially if its something you’re not interested in or something that is a long term goal). It’s not that people have a hard time taking action once. Anyone can motivate themselves to get to the gym to workout one time. It’s being able to consistently take action that is the challenge for most people.

So lacking motivation does affect most people!?!

Yes, depending on the task or subject matter, a lack of motivation can affect us all. And this is where passion and interest play a part. In order to have the motivation and inspiration to continually do what needs to be done in order to produce the results that you want in your life, you need the right tools. Tools that will help you take that initial step as well as help you keep going when you feel discouraged. The key to such tools is practice. Once those actions become a habit, taking action becomes easy.

    So what are these tools?

There really is an abundance of great tools and techniques available to us all, but for me, the key to real success, be it feeling at sense of accomplishment at finishing the household chores, setting up a new business or taking a leap of faith in a new relationship, is mindset.

We are either open to adventure and willing to learn; learn from others, learn from mistakes and learn from success, or we are are going to limit ourselves with a pass or fail mindset. Placing hurdles in front of us every step of the way and applying pressure that needn’t be there. We can either choose to drag our feet every step of the way or we can choose to laugh, smile and skip through these challenges and learn, Learn, LEARN!
