    JULY 2014 Book Recommendation

I’M OK – YOU’RE OK  by Thomas A. Harris M.D. was first published in the late 60’s and early 70’s, and it is remains an insightful and relevant source of information about how and where we function from in our relationships.

It is a practical guide to Transactional Analysis – the psychological theory based around us functioning from differing roles or positions in our relationships.  Simplistically put, Parent, Adult and Child.

It is a fascinating insight into how we all function in the world, and can be exceptionally useful to parents, or to those who have difficult and complicated relationships in either their professional or personal life.  It will help you gain clarity as to where you are functioning from (Parent, Adult or Child) as well as help you understand the same about the other person/ people.  In this way, it enables you to realise what is you can change in order to create a more successful relationship, be it with your children, partner, family, or colleagues.

A very rewarding read that is easily accessible to all (i.e. no technical jargon).
